Conformal Coating

Conformal coating is designed to protect the vast range of electronics in today’s world.  Many printed circuit boards are required to perform in a huge range of environments tolerant of moisture, salt, chemicals and temperature changes to name a few. Conformal coating is designed to protect these electronic components from these varying conditions and prevent the board and components from corroding.

Conformal coating material is a thin polymeric film which ‘conforms’ to the contours of a printed circuit board to protect the board’s components.

Here at Imagine Mfg., we apply four classes of conformal coatings. These include Acrylic, Urethane, Silicone, and Varnish each applied by, brushing, spraying or dipping. These materials typically contain an efflorescent dye to aid in coating coverage inspection while having their own specific physical and chemical properties.

These coating can be selectively applied to the entire board or in select areas depending on the board’s component composition and function and customer’s requirements.

Imagine Mfg is one of the few companies in the southwest that provides this in-house technology solution. So, if you need a board that not only performs well but performs well in a harsh environment, please feel free to give us a call or contact us at sales@imaginemfg.com
